Streaming Internet Television

A promise is a promise unless the promise was made while being drunk. Nevertheless, I will post a short instruction below on how to watch streaming megavideo videos in high DVD (or actually divx) quality.

First of all, we will need a website that can provide us with the crappy megavideo links. A good website for this is:

The supernovatube links you see on that website buffer extremely fast by the way, but the quality is not that good for the flash content (check them out though if you don't care about picture quality). Supernovatube (SNT) also offers divx streaming links (only viewable when using Firefox) but the loading speed for me (with a 10Mbit line) is very poor (they host the divx content on another server).

So to get back to converting the crappy megavideo links to actual high quality fast streaming videos. We now have the crappy megavideo link, so copy the complete Megavideo URL (if the video is not pointing directly to http://www.megavideo.com/whatever, click inside the window where the video is playing and another window will popup with a direct link to the actual megavideo URL).

Now follow the simple instructions below:

1. Convert Your Megavideo Link To MegaUpload - Using http://songvn.com/media/convert_megavideo.php

A small sidenote here; You might get an annoying popup which does not allow you to enter the link. When the page loads, just quickly click somewhere on the screen where you can enter the link and the popup will not show (might be annoying at first, but you will get the hang of this after trying it a couple of times). Alternatively you can use FireFox's pop-up blocker, but you can sort how that exactly works out by yourself.

2. Copy the megaupload link and paste it into the address bar for Internet Explorer / Firefox.
3. Type in the code to get to the actual download link. Wait 45 seconds until the download is available and right-click on the download link and select: Copy Shortcut.
4. Close Tabs (when using FireFox)
5- Goto the New DivX Code Generator: http://labs.divx.com/WebPlayerCodeGenerator
6- Paste the MegaUpload Link
7- Click 'PREVIEW'
8- Watch Full Film

Once the video is fully buffered / loaded, you can save the video by going into your temporary file folder and copy the .avi into a permanent folder.
