Late Shift? Fraggle-Rock.

Blogging. It makes sense when you have got something to say. While writing this I realize that the smarter readers amongst you (and let's face it, whoever read this does not fall under that category) will think: 'Are you not contradiction yourself now?'. And the answer to that thought is: 'Yes, I am. But mastering insanity needs an insight into many different levels of thought, which you will never comprehend to begin with'.

And this bring me to Twitter. While blogging at least makes you think about what you are writing, twittering is just based on an idiot sending an SMS text via his/her mobile which is then dumped on an internet blog. Here is an example of a twitter blogs for people that have never heard of it:

Is it me or is it freezing today?
from web
Catching up on Admin after a busy few weeks.
from web
Back in Cork after a long 2 days in Dublin.
from web
oh well :- (
from m.slandr.net
3 - 3 HT, an unlikely prediction.
from m.slandr.net

And all the blogs are the same as the example above. The word 'sad' comes close to describing what twitter is, but it does not fully cover the load I am afraid.

The person who thought of twitter is a genius though (and must be working for a telephone company -- if he is not, then he is not a genius but just missed out on his once in a lifetime opportunity to become a millionaire). Telephone companies have been making shitloads of money on SMS messages. From Wikipedia:

Commercially SMS is a massive industry in 2006 worth over 81 billion dollars globally.
[23] SMS has an average global price of 0.11 USD and maintains a near 90% profit margin.

This person must have thought something along the following lines:

- What service costs nothing to provide, but will still allow me to make huge profits on? (Answer: SMS).
- Which people would use the service mentioned above? (Answer: idiots a.k.a. 97% of the world population).
- How can I make sure that this sounds like something new and exciting? (Answer: Post the stupid SMS-messages on the internet).

So there you go, twitter in a nutshell. Twitter your money away like the fool that you are. Twitter is the ultimate example of the growing stupidity of people and it makes me shiver to think what the new next low will be in humanity.

So. Good to have that off my chest. Now it's time for an update of what's going on here in Amsterdam.

Dr.Kaboom (Paul D. for friends, I'll explain the concept later) started his new job as a janitor at the Hoge School van Amsterdam (HVA). He has a 25 year old receptionist who installed two printers for him, which gave him plenty of time to check out her cleavage. Not a lot of people know this, but I have received some inside information from a man with a cough, wearing a yellow raincoat and learned that the Three Degrees actually based their song 'Dirty Old Man' on Paul. Funny sidenote here is that Paul now has a boss that actually works instead of sitting on his ass doing nothing the whole day and he expects that Paul, crazy as it may sound, does some actual work himself. On Tuesday he had to work until 19:00 and I reckon it won't be the last time. But again, win-win for Paul (or little professor as he likes to be called as well) as it means spending less time with the family.

Over to Mau. Mau is singlehandedly trying to fix the economic crisis by bying all kinds of hardware he does not need in order to stimulate the market. He already bought two notebooks (one Mac and one PC) because it was a good deal. Although he does not actually use them, he is trying to save us all from going into poverty, so a big OOOOSSSSssss from me to Mau for that. His latest gadget is an i-Phone. The best feature of the phone must be the one that actually tells you where you are. So, if you are somewhere, the phone actually verifies that you are there. This new techmology truly is amazing!

- I am here now? No shit, Sherlock!

Knowing Mau he is going to lose this phone (worth ~€1300) within 3 weeks. Place your bets now readers if you feel lucky tonight! Mau is also watching and re-watching one of the best movies ever made: 'The Fountain'. If you have not seen this movie yet, you should really go watch it, as it is a movie that is almost close to perfection.

I have a lot of other things on my mind (Danselique update / how to watch movies streaming / fitness for beginners / getting a parking license without owning a car), but it's getting late and I know that most readers have the attention span of a goldfish, so I will call it a night. Tomorrow I will try to at least cover the 'how to watch any movie streaming in high QL' so Dr. Kaboom can watch some streaming dvd porn at his new workplace.

Just to round things up. Working late shifts is not a lot of fun. Listening to the fraggle theme wakes me up though, so here it is for all people that feel tired / depressed or that are on the road to awe:
